The Place des Pionniers building is in the process of getting demolished by the firm Excavation René St-Pierre inc. The demolition cost is $742,000. In the fall of this year, the City of Gatineau will publish calls for tenders for the construction of the new building. The construction is scheduled to start in 2023. The Aylmer Service Center and the Lucy-Faris library have been temporarily moved to 181 rue Principale in the Galeries Aylmer where the movie theatre was.
