Petition for the Place des Pionniers 

We thank the 549 people in the community who signed the petition for Place des Pionniers, which asked that if the current 5-storey building must be demolished, it have 4 floors instead of the proposed 3. Furthermore, this should be without increasing the budget, which is already about twice what comparable libraries in other cities cost.  Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the petition asked that the city hold a public consultation to get feedback from residents at all stages of the process related to Place des Pionniers.

We personally delivered the petition to the mayor on September 18 and discussed its contents with him for over half an hour.  The community looks forward to working with our councillors to make this project the best that it can be for all residents.  We invite you to follow any news on this matter through the Amis de la rue Principale Facebook group.Ian Barrett,
