Outings for bird-watchers
April 2: Birding ride in Gatineau Park (Hull-Ferme Moore). As wintering birds return to their boreal breeding grounds, some nesters settle down. We’ll try to surprise them during this short hike in the south sector of the Park, around Parc des Jonquilles, Moore’s Farm and Parc St-Dominique. Duration: about three hours.
Rendez-vous: 8 am at Parc des Jonquilles, on the Avenue of the same name, via St-Raymond Blv. (look fot the Dépanneur Couche-Tard). Your guides: Monique Boivin (819-639-9919) and Martin Aubé (819-772-2504). We speak English.
Early April. The woodcock’s courtship display at twilight. At sunset, observation of the spectacular courtship display of the American Woodcock in Chemin de la Mine sector within Gatineau Park (Hull), near Quartz Street.
For confirmation about the rendez-vous: check the Club’s Facebook page, website or newsgroup. Prior registration required with your host: Diane Paré (819-568-0357).
