Outaouais mayors take leadership roles at provincial stage
Two Outaouais mayors, Caryl Green and Jacques Laurin, have been chosen to take leadership roles in the Caucus of Local Municipalities of the Union of Municipalities of Quebec. They were chosen on October 8. Local municipalities are those in the rural territory of the province and are seen as having characteristics distinct from those of central municipalities, which are larger.
Caryl Green, Mayor of Chelsea, is now the vice-president of the caucus, while Jacques Laurin, Mayor of Val-des-Monts, is another member of the Executive Committee.
