Outaouais en Fête is bringing music and activities to Parc des Cedres this month

Festival Outaouais en Fête will take place June 23 to 26 at Parc des Cèdres in the Aylmer Sector. The festival will include live music concerts, kids’ shows during the day, and inflatable games, foam cannon, street art and performances, face painting and chalk drawing area. Festival goers can also take advantage of the beach, explore the artisan lane and watch the fireworks in the evening.
There will not be carnival rides this year.
The children’s shows include Maria Cannelloni on June 23, Caillou on June 24, Arthur l’aventurier on June 25, and Brimbelle on June 26. All the children's shows start at 5pm.
Later in the evening, there will be three performances each day by various musical performers. On June 23, Paupière, Tire le Coyote, and Hubert Lenoir will be performing. On June 24, Noami, Coeur de Pirate and Émile Bilodeau will take the stage. The following day on June 25 the performances will include 56 Blvd Blues, 2 Frères, and Loud. On the final day, June 26, Phil G Smith, KAÏN, and Les Cowboys Fringants will perform.
On June 24, there will also be a Grand défilé écologique de la Fête Nationale that will bring residents together to celebrate Quebec, its culture and language. It will start at the Galeries Aylmer on Friday, June 24 at 12:30 p.m. participants will then make their way to the Marina.
Participants are encouraged to participate creatively with colors, animations and movement as the best animations will be awarded prizes based on five categories: colors, movement, creativity, sound atmosphere and respect for the theme. The theme this year is “A dashing Quebec, at last we celebrate!”. The first 100 participants will also be given tickets to the concert that evening.
The event has been occurring for over 40 years, with Impératif Français organizing the festival since 1976. The festival was created to celebrate the Saint Jean Baptiste. The festival is organized in partnership with the Quebec and Canadian government, Ville de Gatineau, Labatt, Desjardins, and Pharmaprix, along with many other partners.
