Open letter to Councillor Duggan

Pedestrian safety 

While I recognize that there is more work to do on ch. Vanier in the spring, I can’t tell you how disappointed I am that the City did not repaint the crosswalk (even temporarily) at the corner of Vanier and Crescent. The other street lines have been painted.  I cross there everyday with my kids, and the cars are not stopping.  

My 11-year-old walks home everyday and crosses there, and he is not the only one.  I worry everyday for his safety. Kids today need the infrastructure to support and encourage their independence, so this was a major oversight by the City.  

Can Councillor Duggan address this and make it safe for our kids – now? This cannot wait until the spring.
