One big question for all candidates

 

First, a big thank-you to everyone at the Bulletin d'Aylmer for organizing the debate last Thursday. While politics are not my thing, opportunities like that must be seized in order to better understand who we are voting for.

There was a lot of talk that evening.  Positions were clarified, denied, sidestepped. Some accusations were thrown, and some mud landed. Despite all this, to weigh the ability of these candidates in the execution of future endeavors I feel I need to ask a deliberately ambiguous question that forces them to reveal themselves, and on which I can get a better measure of the man or woman. So, I put to all the candidates (council and mayor) the following:

If the city was a workshop where projects were conceived of and completed, and there was a sign on the wall (quality triangle) that read:  Fast (time)?, Good (quality of work)? or Cheap (money)? and you can only pick two, which two would you pick for our city?

Sure, context is everything, so some projects would be this, and some that . . .  but, ultimately, where do you stand, most of the time? Justify it if you feel the need, but remember, all three are not possible.
