On the execution of Jordanian Pilot, Moaz al-Kassasbeh by ISIS
ISIS was never going to release the Jordanian Pilot for a prisoner exchange and it appears that Moaz al-Kassasbeh was executed long before ISIS made demands for a prisoner exchange.
If anything should be completely obvious by now, it is that the purpose of ISIS' barbaric executions is to fuel the West's resolve to fight them. While the destruction of ISIS is a necessity, ISIS gains power as long as Western nations fight them. It's that very battle that gives legitimacy to the ISIS cause, particularly in the eyes of those who would be radicalized. The West is stuck on the horns of a terrible dilemma; in fact, we are being gored by those horns.
