On not getting vaccinated in Aylmer

 

I have been among those Aylmerites who resented having to go to Hull to get tested and/or vaccinated for COVID.
    I postponed my 4th shot in the hopes that the opportunity to get vaccinated in Aylmer would materialize.  I was thrilled when I checked Clic Sante a few weeks ago and noticed that a Walk In Clinic had been set up at Galeries Aylmer.   It said that the clinic would be open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m on Tuesdays and on Saturdays from 9:00   HYPERLINK "http://a.m.to/" n _blanka.m.  to  4:00 p.m.  I was so excited that I did not notice that the clinic would not open until Tuesday, August 9.  I drove down on Saturday August 6 and after walking around for about an hour, I found the location.  The sign on the door indicated that the clinic would open on Tuesdays from 11:00 to 6:30 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  It also said that 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. would be reserved for those who had made an appointment. I drove down on Tuesday and was told that the day had been reserved for children only.  I drove down again on Saturday morning around 10:30, stood in line for a while and was then told that I could not be vaccinated because all the coupons had been handed out and appointment-only clients could be admitted.  It was suggested I come back on Tuesday.
    When I got home, I decided to book an appointment.  I went into Clic Sante and was asked to provide my postal code.  When I had done that, all the locations available to me were listed - none of them in Aylmer.
    I give up.
    In a recent letter to the Bulletin, our member of the provincial legislature, Andre Fortin,  commented on the proposed location for the new hospital, and indicated that Aylmer deserves better.  I submit to him and to everyone that Aylmer has deserved better for a very long time, but no one has delivered.

P.S.  Does anyone know if the Clinique de Radiologie that was at Galeries Aylmer will ever re-open?
