LETTER
Oceans Day, June 8
I'm a Canadian now living in Cape Town, South Africa. Here in Cape Town, we often see how people are so dependent on the sea - the staple fish for the poor is called snoek. I remember Canada and remember travelling to the Maritimes and the beauty of their coastal areas.
Please take immediate action to protect marine ecosystems along our coastal areas. With Ocean Acidification a direct result of too much carbon dioxide in the air (along with the global warming caused by this carbon dioxide) our oceans are already under threat. Please take all due lines of action to protect our coastal marine areas and ecosystems.
Let's protect Canada's coast and make this World Oceans Day one to celebrate.
