Observe raptors on the move
April 9. Raptors migration in Eardley (Pontiac, Luskville sector). Planned by the Club des ornithologues de l’Outaouais (COO). Destination: near the end of Chemin Thérien in Eardley area, where we’ll attempt to observe raptors in their moves, drifting along Gatineau Park escarpment, such as hawks of various sizes, falcons, vultures and maybe bald eagles or even a golden eagle. It will be a good opportunity to become familiar with those species and to learn some tips for a good identification in the field. Other spring species will also be seen for sure. Level: for all. Bring your equipment, lunch and outdoor chair.
Rendez-vous: 7:30 am, Galeries d’Aylmer parking lot (rue Principale), in front of Jean Coutu drugstore OR after 8:00 am at the end of Chemin Thérien. Outing cancelled in case of rain. Your host: Rodolphe Dubois (819-685-9159). We speak English.
For detailed information about our activities (mostly open to everyone), contact the Club at our website www.coo.qc.ca.
