November 30 Canada and climate change
The world is watching now both the protests at Standing Rock, North Dakota, where pipelines threaten drinking water sources, and the recent U.S.A. election. These have woken us up!
On Wednesday, November 30, we will see the First Native peoples of Canada going to the Supreme Court regarding protecting the Clyde River from being used for any form of energy without full consultation and the consent of the original peoples there. Be a witness to support this ideal all day, from a Sunrise Ceremony on Victoria (Asinabka) Island to outside the Supreme Court from 8 am to 9:30 am, noon to 2 pm, with Closing Ceremonies from 4 to 5 pm.
Salaheddine Mezouar, Chair of the Conference about maintaining the global momentum on climate change, said “The Climate Change Question transcends politics and concerns the preservation of our own livelihood, dignity and the only planet on which we all live.”
Don’t miss November 30!
