New School for Aylmer
École de l’Amérique-Française official opening ceremony
Students, staff and VIPs, including Hull MNA Maryse Gaudreault, CSPO President Johanne Légaré, DG Jean-Claude Bouchard, gathered in the gymnasium of the new school École de l’Amérique-Française for the official opening ceremony on February 16. Located at 125 Boulevard de l’Amérique-Française, the elementary school opened its doors to students living west of du Plateau in Aylmer last September.
This is the most recent new school in the Commission scolaire Portages-de-l’Outaouais (CSPO) but far from being the last. Another new school is under construction in the Quartier Connaught and others will be built or extended in the next few years.
The school, requiring over 15 million dollars of government investment, has a little over 600 pupils and has not yet reached full capacity. (LRC, Trad.: CB)
