New cable TV show about Anglos in West Quebec: City Life
On August 29 the Bulletin interviewed the Executive Director of the Regional Association of West Quebecers (RAWQ), Linton Garner, about the upcoming cable television show City Life that will be produced in partnership with Videotron. The show will air from September to December and from January to April in a thirty-minute format, on a weekly basis.
City Life will feature high profile Anglophones living in, or outside of, West Quebec and will touch on numerous important subjects, such as education and services like healthcare, arts, culture, and many more. When the Bulletin asked Garner what the goal of the television show was, he said, “We want to promote the presence of English speakers in the region, as well as their contributions to the community; after all, we make up one-third of the population.” He also told the Bulletin that one of the mandates of RAWQ is to improve quality of life for Anglophones living in West Quebec and to preserve their heritage.
