Half-a-million per year
New agreement for City & Tourisme Outaouais
A new 3-year agreement, 2019-2021, has been signed by the City of Gatineau and Tourisme Outaouais (TO).
Gatineau will contribute a total of $495,000 per year to TO. Of this $270,000 to support human resources and $225,000 for “promotion and development”. The agreement includes status quo with regards to the representation of two city councillors on the Board of Directors of TO. After 2021, the City will name a representative as an observer from city council. The two organizations will share a photo bank.
The agreement ends December 31, 2021, with the possibility of 2 one-year extensions for the years 2022 and 2023.
From 2016 to 2018, the City contributed $415,000 a year to TO.
TO is a private, non-profit organization comprised of over 550 member businesses. The mission of these businesses is to promote the Outaouais as a must-see tourist destination. They promote the areas of food, lodging, festivals and events, or activities of all sorts, largely in Gatineau. Cédric Tessier ( district de Hull-Wright ) et Louise Boudrias ( district du Parc-de-la-Montagne-Saint-Raymond ) sont les deux élus au conseil d’administration. (Transl: CB)
