Musicians urge federal candidates on climate crisis 

Musicians and speakers will gather at the iconic Black Sheep in Wakefield, Sunday, September 8 to call for urgent action on the climate crisis. In the lead-up to the September 20-27 week of global climate actions and the October federal election, it has never been more critical for people to demand that candidates and political leaders provide leadership - vision - and bold policies and consider multi-party collaboration to respond to the global climate crisis.

The event entitled, “It’s Time Now!,” is being organized by the La Pêche Coalition for a Green New Deal. The local group makes clear that it’s time now to step away from the status quo and embrace a grassroots Green New Deal that would transition communities away from fossil fuels.

The Coalition will urge participants to sign a petition to declare a climate emergency in La Pêche and attend the climate strike on Parliament Hill on September 27 as well as local climate debates.
