Ms Hanson on Wychwood

 

This is a response to Pauline Hanson’s reference to Wychwood as an “exclusive suburb” full of “plush homes” (letter to the Bulletin, May 20). I suggest Ms. Hanson take a walk around Wychwood where she purportedly lives. She would discover a broad diversity of homes including many very modest ones. I note that Ms. Hanson’s main complaint is the restriction against subdividing lots into small sizes. In this she echoes the view of developers who want to cram as many units as possible into a small area in order to increase profits, and to the detriment of green space.
