LETTER
Mr Thompsett’s reply to an editorial
My reaction to Mr Thompsett’s letter after reading Mr. Ryan's editorial in the February 7th editionis that the government sets laws to protect lives and people's rights. These laws are set after years of observation as to what is the best way to ensure people's welfare.
One must look at the objectives for the better good of all humans. All are not Christians but all are human. The church has its moral laws but religion is our individual choice.
One must keep in mind that legal is not necessarily what one considers moral. Your conscience, your choice.
History has proven: keep religions out of politics. As Mr. Ryan pointed out, "chaos".
