------ Mr Prime Minister: Pornhub in Canada?
In a recent Sunday NYT, Nicholas Kristof comments and asks: 'Prime Minister Justin Trudeau calls himself a feminist and has been proud of his government's efforts to empower women worldwide. So a question for Trudeau and all Canadians: Why does Canada host a company that inflicts rape videos on the world?' I want the answer to that question as well.
I was a member of the Canadian delegation to the Stockholm Congress Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children in 1996 and also part of Canada's first human rights delegation to Cuba in 1997 where the topic again was the sexual exploitation of children. We were proud of Canadian leadership in tackling pornography, trafficking and other exploitation.
What has happened? Why is an organization headquartered in Montreal allowed to exploit young people? How are current laws being enforced or what further legislation and regulations are being considered to prohibit the publishing and/or selling of sexually explicit material?
What support do you need from us, Mr Prime Minister, to make this go away?
