MP Fergus, Gatineau’s mayor, support for local business

 

I was present at your Best of Aylmer awards celebration and I must tell your readers that it was an extraordinary affair and the Bulletin’s team deserves  our congratulations. As the son of a municipal politician (Alberta), I pay some attention to municipal politics and politicians, and it was very good to see so many politicians there.  

MP Greg Fergus’ remarks were very encouraging; those of our mayor less so. The Mayor repeated how fantastic the affair is, even saying that “all of Gatineau is jealous” of Aylmer for having an event supporting local businesses so strongly. But I have read in your last issues that this mayor has withdrawn future public notices from your paper – doesn’t that contradict everything he said last night? Has he interest in supporting local media? What are we to think about his comments -- on anything?

Election year, 2017, is not a good time for him to show his true colours.
