Morning bird-watching, November 8
The regional bird-watching club, the Club des ornithologues de l’Outaouais (COO), will lead a morning bird-watching expedition, November 8, in the lower Pontiac, between Breckenridge and Norway Bay. It is open to non-members.
The trip will run through a variety of environments : Ottawa river, open fields, marshes, escarpment. Opportunities are to spot diving ducks, turkeys, bald eagles, fringillids and latecomer passerine migrants, as well as some boreal visitors (hawks, shrikes, waxwings, larks, pipits, longspurs, and buntings).
Rendez-vous : 730 am at Tim Horton on Vanier Street in Aylmer, near Boul. des Allumettières, or 9 am at the ferry dock in Quyon. Car pooling can be arranged. There’s an opportunity to lunch at Coronation Hall Cider Mills or the Pine Lodge Resort, both in Norway Bay. Return between 1 and 3 pm.
