Missing the point  on democracy

I watched the September 24 episode of CityLife on MaTVOutaouais with interest. Lily Ryan and Melanie Scott were in conversation with the show’s host, Linton Garner, about the Quebec election campaign. I love the way Ms Ryan gets right to the point and how she gets her message across. 

I particularly enjoyed the point she made about the politicians wanting to be covered in local newspapers but not committing to buying advertisement. I fail to understand the logic of acknowledging the importance of local newspapers and the role they play in our democracy, but then turning their backs on the very same media.
