LETTER
Missing and murdered
Now ends the long haul of pre-inquiry information sessions on Missing and Murdered Women and Children. Powerful yet emotionally exhausting. Thank you to all the men and women who shared their heartbreaking stories, their sorrow, their pain, their courage and their resilience! Thank you to the three ministers for their leadership in making this long awaited inquiry actually happen. Thank you for asking Indigenous people to develop their own ideas as to what an inquiry would look like for their own communities. Thank you to our elders for giving us strength. Thank you to our drummers and singers. Your music and your songs remind us of who we are. The beat of the drum brings us back to our hearts.
Thank you to everyone for standing tall and strong! Remember, there is help and support all around you. Reach out to your support circle, your Elders, your social health workers, your family and your friends. Chi Miigwetch!
