Message from Friends of Wychwood - coronavirus
In the midst of this pandemic, the Friends of Wychwood would like to provide some suggestions for ensuring that our friends and neighbors have the groceries and medication they need. While there are many people who do not wish to leave their homes even to shop, a large number of those people will have family and friends who can pick up groceries and medication for them. However, here are some options for ensuring that we all have what we need if we do not wish to leave the house:
With regards to medication, it is important to know that all drugstores in Aylmer will deliver.
With regard to groceries, we did a scan of the four supermarkets starting from Marche Laflamme on Rue Principale continuing along Chemin d’Aylmer, where there are three supermarkets: Super C, IGA and Provigo to identify which stores provide home delivery. This is what we found:
• Marche Laflamme delivers every day of the week. They have a detailed listing of their products on their website and orders are taken by telephone. There is a $4 charge for delivery. www.marchelaflamme.com 819-684-4156
• Super C does not do home deliveries
• The IGA delivers on Mondays and Tuesday. Orders need to be received before 11am on those days. The cost for delivery is $6, and $3 for seniors. Orders can be taken on-line or by telephone. www.iga.net 819-684-0001
• Provigo does not do home deliveries. However, they do have a service where you can make an order on-line and it will be ready for you to pick up. www.provigo.ca 819-682-4443
ALL of these supermarkets open at 8am and are not busy at that time.
There are also a number of local restaurants that deliver and a few more where you can order take-out through an app such as UberEats.
We hope that is useful information. We wish you all good health.
