France Bélisle, the newly elected Mayor of Gatineau, announced the members appointed to the executive committee. The committee consists of the mayor and our elected councillors who serve as members.
Mayor Bélisle will be in the role of President and Louise Boudrias, Councillor for the Parc-de-la-Montagne-Saint-Raymond district, in the role of Vice-President. The other three members of the executive committee are Olive Kamanyana, Councillor for Carrefour-de-l'Hôpital district, Gilles Chagnon, Councillor for Lucerne District, and Mario Aubé, Councillor for Masson-Angers District. All members of the executive committee are independent, meaning there are no Action Gatineau members on the executive committee.
“I am excited, and I am proud of the composition of the Executive Committee, which plays a crucial role in the municipal system. Through their experience and expertise, I am confident that members will act with rigour, professionalism and transparency in managing municipal operations and priorities. I have ensured that the composition of the executive committee is representative of city areas from east to west. As for priority issues, it is clear that the issue of labour shortages and hiring strategies in the municipal government will be closely monitored by the committee,” said Bélisle.
The first public session of the executive committee will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 9:30 am. All meetings of the executive, of council, and of many committees are live-streamed and archived on www.gatineau.ca.
