----- Masks alone are not enough
With masks mandatory in closed spaces, we all need to remember they don't block all germs. It's estimated they block 25% to 90% of viral particles, depending on make and design.
What this means is that we still need to cover our mouths with our arms when we cough. Otherwise we're blasting anywhere from 10% to 75% of our germs into the air, where they could easily infect others as everyone else's mask lets through anywhere from 10% to 75% of germs.
Above all, we need to remember that masks do not make it okay to go out when feeling ill.
I'm losing count of the people I've seen coughing into their masks when I'm at the grocery or hardware store. Masks are now part of stopping Covid, but they're not the most important aspect. Above all else is not being around other people when we have symptoms.
If we have coughs, sinus congestion, or any other symptoms we must stay home if we want to help stop the pandemic!
