Major plans upcoming for Klock Road
Several short- and long-term projects are being prepared for Klock Road in Lucerne District.
Firstly, as approved by the Executive Committee on June 19, 2019, redevelopment work at the intersection of Klock Road and Antoine-Boucher Road will be carried out to install stops in all directions by the end of September.
A measure long awaited by the residents of the sector, pothole patches and asphalt refurbishing will help increase the safety of the neighbourhood and its surroundings.
According to Lucerne district councillor Gilles Chagnon, the 1.8 km-long paving work done in early August is just the beginning of more comprehensive work that is being prepared for the coming years.
“The work done this year is temporary. The major holes and the surface were paved and the stops were laid as a sort of 4- to 5-year padding which will help improve the condition and safety of the road while we’re waiting for our ultimate goal of completely redoing the road and its infrastructure in roughly 3 years.”
Klock Road is a major thoroughfare and one of the longest streets in the area crossing Les Allumetières Boulevard as well as Pink, Cook and Baillie Roads.
