Loss of CT - what’s to come?
Another one bites the dust! Our Canadian Tire store is now at the Plateau, causing us to drive further and not walk to buy many of our everyday hardware items as well as automotive parts/repairs. Don't know what the intent is to use the now vacant space, which is quite large, but perhaps some thought should be given to a Home Hardware store. I think that the space for this type of establishment would be quite sufficient, given that Home Hardware does not provide vehicle repair. Reno and Bonhomme businesses are still with us but by and large they provide more a "lumber service" to local contractors and home handypersons, although some hardware items are available there. The variety of items offered by a Home Hardware, such as exists in a small town like Shawville, would
certainly be welcomed by Aylmerites.
Hopefully, we can look forward to some sort of establishment that will serve us well, and not end up with a bunch of boutique-type shops.
