Lord Aylmer School under renovation

Lord Aylmer primary school on Frank Robinson Drive is undergoing renovation, with its first phase to be completed by the end of October. The windows in the front of the school will be changed and the administrative offices and the entrance of the school (where parents wait) will be improved.  Sections of the exterior walls will be resurfaced because the brickwork has deteriorated. DLS Construction Inc. won the bidding at a little over $737,000.

The second phase of renovation will see the windows in the back of the school changed within the next few years.  According to a spokesperson for the Western Quebec School Board, “The work needed to be done. Maintenance work alone isn’t enough to keep a school in fair shape.”

The spokesperson added, “Western Quebec cares for its neighbours. We always ask of contractors not to be too invasive. If someone would like to comment on this, they can reach the Board at 819-684-2336.”
