The Table agroalimentaire de l’Outaouais (TAO) is emphasizing the importance of supporting the region’s maple syrup producers and local businesses with the launch of their Croquez l’Outaouais des Sucres campaign.
Part of this campaign is the 100% local temps des sucres box. TAO, Tourisme Outaouais, and Marché de l’Outaouais have collaborated, for the second consecutive year, to put together a box of maple syrups from around the Outaouais. The box will include 10 products from 10 maple syrup producers in Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, Collines-de-l’Outaouais, Gatineau, and the Pontiac.
“TAO is excited and proud to launch a fourth year of our promotional campaign Croquez l'Outaouais des Sucres. Under the theme “maple flows freely”, it aims to encourage and support local maple syrup companies as they enter their third pandemic season,” says Chantale Vaillancourt, President of TAO. “On the menu: 100% local box – Sugar Season and promotional campaign on social networks. So, as the maple syrup flows, let’s celebrate and enjoy our heritage!”
The local businesses involved include; Érablière Bo-Sirop, Érablière Saint-Germain, Domaine de L’Ange-Gardien, Les Fougères, L’Orée du Bois, Sucrerie des Jaseurs, Ferme Mouflon, La Paysannerie, and Miss Marmelades.
A limited number of the boxes will be available from March 3 to 29 for $65. The boxes can be purchased by visiting https://www.croquezoutaouais.com/boite-decouverte-temps-des-sucres/
There are six pick-up locations once the box is purchased; Le Marché de l’Outaouais, Café Downtown, Chez Gargantini, Fine & Fûtés, Le Brasse-Camarade and le Domaine de L’Ange Gardien. The boxes must be picked up by March 31.
"The last few years have given us more than ever the desire to encourage our local businesses and producers. After last year’s success, we’re excited to share some of them in the 100% local temps des sucres box!” said Julie Kinnear, President and CEO of Tourisme Outaouais. “Moreover, with the release of certain sanitary measures, we are convinced that the products found there will give people the taste to rediscover the sugar shacks of the Outaouais!”
