Lime fitness features online classes during pandemic
Despite recently being forced to shut down her fitness studio from the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lime Fitness owner Maggie Vollelv is making the best of unfortunate circumstances by using the internet to connect with her clients.
For $40 per month, Lime Fitness is providing memberships to all its workout classes in virtual format.
Launched during the first wave of the pandemic - when her studio shut down for the first time - she said the online platform has been greatly appreciated by her clientele, especially the social aspect of it.
“There are still people who are not able to come in, for different reasons,” Vollelv said. “People really appreciate it … It motivates people to see other people work out at the same time. It’s motivation. You still get a little sense of that community we have at the studio.”
Aiming to be as inclusive as possible, Lime Fitness is intended for people of all ages, genders and fitness levels, Vollelv said.
“It’s really for everybody and it’s a great community,” Vollelv said. “People really feel at home. We work hard to make people feel at home. The level you’re at, that’s where you start at and we work from there.”
Established in the community for eight years, the fitness studio provides a diverse selection of workout courses including, PiYo®, kettlebells, and Core & s’more, mainly focusing on cardio, mobility, flexibility, core and strength.
Vollelv added that she also rents out workout equipment, notably kettle bells and rip sticks for POUND® classes, to clients wanting to train at home.
Those interested can register for classes or check out the studio’s schedule via Lime Fitness’ website (limefitness.ca) or by calling (819) 557-1359.
