LETTER
Lights at Principale & Bordeaux
I am concerned with the traffic lights at Principale and Bordeaux. I have lived in Aylmer all my life, born here and will die here, but since it has been Gatineau, our city sucks big time. We have nothing left, and Aylmer people are fed up.
We need a change at the traffic lights in front of the mall. Why, coming up Bordeaux Street, isn’t there an arrow to turn left onto Principale? With the exit to Wilfrid Lavigne closed (at old CTC), it’s a nightmare to have one exit only (in the front).
People coming out of Aylmer Arms or the old Symmes school have an arrow -- and both of those exits are parking lots! The city can fix Lucerne Blvd and add a bike lane beside the one that already exists on the old train track but they can’t add an arrow at the corner of Bordeau and Principale?
Gatineau should send someone to sit on the corner and count how many cars can turn left on a green light, on a good day -- one, maybe two?
Our councillors have to get involved here!
