Future of the Lucy-Faris Library

Thanks to the Bulletin for the great report on the city’s plans for the library in last week’s edition. We all need to realize that this project will be central to Rue Principale’s dynamics for decades to come. So it’s very important that we work with our councillors, helping them to make it the best it can be.

We should also keep in mind the devastating impact prolonged construction can have on a commercial artery.  And that if only a few companies bid on the library, it could be challenging to get a good price and completion date for the city. No one wants taxpayers to be on the hook for an extra 20 or 30 million compared to what the project should cost. So let’s give Audrey, Mike and Gilles our full assistance to make sure that this project is top notch and a good deal, in the best interest of Aylmer for this generation and the next!
