LETTER
Letters work!
Thank-you to city officials and councillor Duggan for their efforts towards ensuring the safety of everyone on Vanier Road. Last edition, the Bulletin published my letter asking why the pedestrian cross-walk had not yet been painted, considering the young age of pedestrians using this intersection.
Following that, I came across city workers painting the lines, ensuring vehicles stop for pedestrians (see photo).
I know that in the grand scheme of things, this isn’t earth-shaking. But it is proof that citizen engagement does produce results. When we speak up, we can make a difference. Residents play a role in the healthy-running of our community, and this includes writing letters to our elected officials and writing letters to the editor. Thank you Bulletin, for publishing my letter.
