Gala Excellence Sportive Outaouais

Launch of nominations for the 4th edition

The organizing committee of the fourth edition of the Gala Excellence Sportive Outaouais launched, on February 24, the nomination period for the recognition event that will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Palais des congrès de Gatineau.

Until March 28, 2020, it will be possible to submit a nomination online (https://sportoutaouais.ca/gala/) in one of the 16 award categories, recognizing athletic achievement, commitment and leadership, as well as regional outreach and pride. Three additional awards will be presented by the selection committees and scholarships totalling more than $28,000 will be awarded at the gala.

“We encourage parents, friends, volunteers, teachers, coaches and citizens to nominate individuals, associations or organizations that have surpassed themselves this year. The players on the regional sports scene need support and recognition that will motivate them to achieve their aspirations,” said Elodie Brault, Executive Director of Excellence Sportive Outaouais. 

The mission of the Gala Excellence Sportive Outaouais is to recognize the achievements of regional, provincial, national and international athletes. In addition, the event aims to highlight the commitment of volunteers and the contribution of sports initiatives that help make the Outaouais region particularly rich in activities of all kinds for its citizens. 

The organizing committee is made up of Excellence Sportive Outaouais, the City of Gatineau, the MRC de Papineau, the MRC du Pontiac, Loisir Sport Outaouais and several volunteers. 

A gala of this magnitude would not be possible without the participation of valuable partners and sponsors. The organizing committee is always looking for collaborators in order to maximize the visibility of the winners and finalists, and to finance the bursaries that are awarded.
