Lane confusion

 

I am confused as to why some people fantasize that another car lane on Lucerne will make a difference to their commute time. The only thing it will do is change the format of the Champlain Bridge traffic bottleneck. Not the travel time.

As of yet no safe/secure commuter bike path/lane between Vanier and Champlain Bridge exists. Build it and they will come. Until the bridge, and beyond, is widened, Lucerne’s extra car lane is a fantasy fix for impatient car commuters. Unless they build a carpool lane and actually enforce it...
