LETTER
La Revue’s closure
In your last edition, it was very sad to see Gatineau’s weekly community newspaper go. And so suddenly, too. The advantage that I see for the Bulletin is that La Revue needed to compete a lot more with Le Droit, as the topics covered by both were similar. The Bulletin’s focus mainly on Aylmer, being a more localized area, and its bilingual content, all help set it apart a bit more.
It is sad to say, but in an age of plummeting ad revenue, the silver lining to this dark cloud may be that advertisers that formally utilized La Revue may now come to the Bulletin. Perhaps this will relieve a bit of the pressure on your end.
Ian Barrett, Aylmer
