LETTER
Indigineous rights need action, not speeches
Ten years is too long to wait. The tenth anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples should be an impossible-to-ignore call to Prime Minister Trudeau. Indigenous communities as equal partners is a requisite part of reconciliation and a priority for us.
Saying Canada supports UNDRIP is not enough. It is vital that the Trudeau government pass Bill C-262, which will see Canada putting its money where its mouth is. Time to do the right thing, Mr Prime Minister.
