In support of Mr d’Eça

 

I trust you'll notice that this letter in support of Mr d'Eça is relatively tame. So was Mr Peries's column on minimum wage. Mme Editor, your father's red-meat editorial on wealth was another matter. I'm from a poor family. Father (amateur boxer, fireman, union organizer), Mother (homemaker, with an invalid Mother of her own to look after). We were taught not to look down on anybody nor to be intimidated by or envious of those better off than we were.  So, Mr Ryan’s editorial on “being wealthy” struck me as unfair.
