Improving services, via the post office
The mandate of Canada Post is presently being discussed by a government study group. Other countries have more essential services included in their postal system, such as banking and telephone. That way, those services (which are essential) can be controlled from the central governing outfit: the government. If we, Canadians, do not like the government's actions in these services, that’s a reason to turf them. We have no such control over private suppliers that tend to become monopolies through amalgamation, but with no oversight.
