On February 3, around 9:40 pm, Gatineau Police discovered a marijuana growth operation at 28 Glenholm Street in Aylmer – 981 plants, valued at near one million dollars. Once inside the house, located less than 500 meters from the Lord Aylmer elementary school, police arrested a 57 year-old man who was charged with production and trafficking of narcotics. Besides seizing nearly 1,000 plants, police also found 157 grams of bulk marijuana worth $1,570 and $60,000 worth of production equipment. The police were tipped off by information they received from the public a few days prior to the bust. Neither the accused nor the address were on the police radar. The man was released until he appears in Quebec Court at a future date.
