Ice Fishing Derby extravaganza

With normal temperatures of -6/-15 on average for the 21st of January, this past Saturday was a lot warmer for festivities at the Aylmer marina. It was one of those days that residents in Aylmer will remember -- the day was mild at 3 degrees, a little foggy but a nice day to take a walk in the park or join in the festivities at the Aylmer marina.

The Knights of Columbus welcomed participants to the 9th edition of the Annual Ice Fishing Tournament at the marina. Registration started at 7 am: $15, free for children 12 and under. There was a closing supper at 5 pm in Aydelu Hall ($8 for guests), which included many door prizes.

A fun-filled weekend of activities for the whole family to enjoy! Activities included sleigh rides, a kiddie zone, a cozy area with a nice warm fire or simply just a great day to watch your line and wait for that big one.
