Nice editorial (One-use plastic bottles) on a topic that needs to be addressed asap. Too much plastic packaging everywhere... In many places plastic bags are banned, or a surcharge for them at least. Most of us adapted to bringing reusable shopping bags. We need to transition to reusable water containers as well. Stores can have drinking water taps and tanks. City should place functional outlets in public spaces.

There should be a municipal surcharge of some sort on one-use plastic water bottles (and bags) since the city has to manage their cleanup. And environmentally they're very hurtful.

Hopefully Gatineau can grow a pair and take a leadership role in mitigating this lazy wastefulness.
