I live in a flood zone, but don't speak French . . .

 

Canada is supposed to be a two-language country, bilingual, yet when I call the Quebec government for help, I get a response in French; when I finally get through to a live person, he or she answers only in French; they usually cannot understand English.

This is happening in our bilingual country.  Shouldn’t Quebec be providing emergency information in both languages, like the rest of Canada? French is still a small minority language in Canada, so, really, everything should be bilingual. I have been living in Quebec for 12 years, and this situation is getting worse, especially with the flooding emergency. The FLQ is dead. Get on board and speak English and French, especially first-responders, as across Canada.
