Hypocrisy! Hypocrisy! Hypocrisy!
In reply to David Desjardins, a religion is a particular view of God(s) which makes Atheism, in itself, a religion.
Excluding religious symbols from the dress of nurses and other state workers, deleting religious names and denying cash to religious groups for not accepting socialist values is not secularism, but the aggressive promotion of Atheism and its phoney God of "Society", an evil deity invented by socialists to pump out the civil rights of each and every individual.
And his bunkum about "which God" is nothing more than cheeky nonsense. Look...
If a rampaging Rastafarian is striding down the street, dreadlocks flying in the wind as he smokes a 6-ounce fattie of the finest Wacky-Baccy, I have no complaint.
If Cargoists want to put up a 12-foot statue of their living God, President Lyndon B Johnson, and build a temple to him, I have no complaint.
If a Saudi woman wants to look like Darth Vader at the Walmart checkout counter, I have no complaint.
It is their choice.
But when Atheists are using the tax-funded instruments of the state to steamroll over the beliefs of other religions, discriminate against them and offer them a choice of act against your own religion or face a jail sentence, then this is repugnant and a gross violation of the ideals behind the Charter of Rights that Canadians so claim to cherish.
And, as for all the claims made about bad acts by Christians, do I have to remind him about the 66,000,000 Christians that were liquidated in Atheist Soviet Russia - and that's not including all the suffering that Christian people like the Poles endured during their occupation by the Warsaw Pact.
For the fact remains that the average proselytizing Atheist is not less obsessed with foisting his religion on others than the Jesuits in the darkest days of the Inquisition.
