Heritage buildings in Old Hull and Aylmer: city restoration info session coming up
Sophie Demers
An information evening will take place on April 21 at 7 pm at Cabaret La Basoche, in the Cultural Centre in Old Aylmer. The places are limited; however, the event is free of charge. The event will have several parts, including a photograph exhibition of restored heritage buildings, a presentation of the research process to document the history of a building, as well as a presentation on the financial assistance program to enhance heritage building, and a screening of excerpts from the BAnQ archive films that showcase the heritage of Old Hull and Aylmer.
All residents who are interested in the restoration of heritage buildings are welcome to attend the event. Gatineau hopes to continue to disseminate knowledge of the region's heritage and that we all continue to protect and enhance built heritage.
In 2020, the city approved the Financial Assistance Program for enhancing heritage buildings in Gatineau. The program provides financial assistance for owners of heritage buildings to enhance or maintain their property.
