Hate-speech graffiti shakes Aylmer
A graffiti sketch of hateful connotation was found at the entrance of Louis-Roy Park last weekend, causing outrage among park goers and folks on social media. Written in white paint on the black pavement, the graffiti read “KKKCanada” in large letters.
On May 19, the Service de Police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) relations agent Renée Anne St-Amant confirmed with the Aylmer Bulletin that police were aware of the situation. She added that the SPVG had launched an investigation into the incident, noting that it was the only graffiti incident reported in the sector. St-Amant said Gatineau’s 3-1-1 service was informed of the painting and that they would remove it as quickly as possible.
No additional information is available for the time being, St-Amant said.
