Hate-graffiti in Aylmer 

Would you please consider a policy to not publish photos of graffiti, especially if they involve hate speech?

 

The city policy on the prevention of graffiti says, in part, “you have to clean the tag or graffiti and repaint the vandalized wall as quickly as possible, preferably within 24 hours after it appears.”

Removing a tag as quickly as possible is effective in discouraging graffiti. Publishing a photo of the graffiti in your paper gave the message an even wider audience in a more enduring media.
