Hat’s off to Councillor Duggan, Bravo Mr. Duggan!  

 

It takes courage to stand up and do what it right. It is so much easier to be a sheep and follow the herd. Mr. Duggan seems to be one of the only councillors working for the people. He has, time and again, spoken out about discrepancies, secret closed door meetings, lies, lack of transparency, lack of accountability, enormous overruns, all to deaf ears.  

 

It seems some of the other councillors are uneasy working with Mr. Duggan. Wonder why? Could it be that he makes them look like yes people? So many bad decisions accepted, no matter the cost of overrun, doubled, tripled, but always OK.  

 

Council for years has been wasting taxpayers money on the centre multifonctionnel. Surveys done have shown great lack of interest in this ‘Royal Palace’. We the taxpayers can not afford these grandiose buildings. Same goes for the library. We are regular people trying hard to hang onto our overpriced homes and keeping food on the table. Many, many people are struggling. Listen to the people. 

 

We are supposed to be in a period of austerity, not building castles we cannot afford. These buildings are never used to capacity and are another drain on the taxpayers. Renovate, update what we already have. Please, Mr. Duggan, hang in there. You are our only hope, and you have most of Gatineau behind you and thanking you for really working for us and listening.
