LETTER
Gratitude of Jubilee Area Residents Association
On behalf of all the residents of our neighbourhood, I would like to thank all the volunteers who came in such great numbers to place sandbags in front of our houses during the flooding. Fortunately, our neighbourhood suffered much less than many other areas in the region, but the river water still threatened several houses on our streets. Furthermore, we are a very small neighbourhood and would never have had enough people to carry out all the work necessary to protect the threatened houses. The arrival of dozens of volunteers with their cars and trucks loaded with sandbags, all ready to help us spontaneously, provided much more than simple relief for us. Subsequently, the work of removing the sandbags was also clearly successful and of great assistance to flooded residents. We were deeply touched by the spirit of generosity and friendship of Gatineau residents and for that we are very grateful.
Again, many thanks to all the volunteers.
